AUTOBIOGRAPHICAL POEMS

Here we show two poems that describe how Chr. Th. Palesis saw his role as a folk poet:

REPRESENTATION OF CYPRIOT WEDDING

A narrative poem written to illustrate the traditional Cypriot village wedding customs. It tells the story of Konstanti and Katerina who are in love but never confess their love to each other, until Konstanti sends his father to ask Katerina’s hand in marriage from her father. We provide here a PDF version of the poem in the poet’s own hand-writing.

Poems written specifically to be sung during traditional wedding celebrations.
